COTR - Centro Operativo e de Tecnologia de Regadio

What is COTR ? The Centro Operativo e de Tecnologia de Regadio - COTR - is an association without lucrative ends. It was created with the signature of the Statutes in 16th of March 1999 in the Notary's office of Vidigueira (Alentejo Region).

Goals

The COTR has as social end to harness the rural development, namely the conversion of rain fed agriculture into irrigated agriculture, in particular:

· To promote and undertake the necessary projects leading to the creation and broadcasting of knowledge and to the technique and scientific interchange.
· To promote and to undertake training actions and pursue professional qualification.
· To stimulate the scientific and technique information in the domain of the irrigated crops.
· To promote and to carry out national or international scientific meetings to the accomplishment of its ends.

Where is COTR ?

The COTR is located in Quinta da Saúde, Apartado 354, 7801-904 BEJA, in the Beja region of Portugal.

The COTR has, besides the Quinta da Saúde, that will function essentially as head-office, place of training classes, and horticulture and fruit-growing, two more Sections:

· One located in the Herdade dos Lameirões, in Safara-Moura - Section of Lameirões - will function essentially as area of olive production, fruit growing and cereals.

· Other located in the Herdade do Outeiro, in Canhestros - Section of Outeiro -, which is essentially dedicated to cereal production.
